Introduction |
Kedah long and unique history present a unique blend of culture between Malay, Indian, Thai and Chinese. A unique and appetizing feast await food lovers as there are wide range of Malay, Indian, Chinese and Thai influence cuisines to choose from. Combination of spices, local herbs and other local vegies is enough to temp anyone. Local dishes like "Nasi Ulam" will even make vegetarian feel at home. This is dish is prepared by blending rice with various fresh vegies, herbs and spices.
There are various dishes which make use glutinous rices as primary ingredient. It can be taken with durian, mango, fried chicken and dried fish. However that is not the end of side dishes list. "Laksa" is a must taste popular local dish. It is made of rice noodles taken with thick fish gravy and small slices of cucumber, onion and chili also some local herbs. Your journey won't be complete if you didn't try it. Don't stop there because food tasting in Kedah is a journey on its own.
