The Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) which was offici
ally opened in 1996 is the first high technology industrial park in Malaysia. The Park is situated in Kulim, Kedah Darul Aman, in the north-west of Peninsular Malaysia and comprises total land area of approximately 1,700 hectares (approximately 4,000 acres). |
The Park is strategically located about 27 kilometers from the North-Butterworth Container Terminal (NBCT) and about 45 kilometers from Bayan Lepas International Airport by road. |

Government organizations are looking on how to make it easier for the citizens to access government information
and service from any location at any time. It is part of our charter to provide technology solutions that would enable
government organization to operate more efficiently and provide better services. We also look into how we can
provide analytical tools that harness raw data and provide government leaders with strategic information for them
to make informed, accurate and quick decisions. |

In terms of digital divide, a number of ICT programs and initiatives have been identified with the respective ministries
in promoting IT literacy in rural areas. We also have identified a new initiative to promote and re-brand Kedah’s
government services and commercial entities within a one stop interactive portal. |

| We take on the charter to lay out the foundation for ICT infrastructure in Kedah that are fast and cost effective, all
with the goal of enhancing the commercial sector and thereby contributing to the state’s economic development.
We have set our vision to be the leading ICT provider and participate more agressively in promoting ICT development
in Kedah. It is envisioned by our YAB Menteri Besar Kedah that through our establishment, we will be able to
develop many small entrepreneurs through our downstream partnership programmes. KICTH is the realization of
